These are our own production sizes: a 35 cm carcass in plywood, 25 mm sides and 18 mm fronts, taking a mattress up to 22 cm thick. A vertical bed comes 205 cm into the room; a horizontal one only 106 to 167 cm, though it asks for 201 cm of wall. Allow about 10 cm more for the frame to swing over. Every dimension is confirmed at site measurement.

A Murphy bed is rarely the whole wall. These are the layouts Singapore homes ask for most often — every one photographed in a finished Speedy Decor home.

Config 02
The desk stays set up while the bed is stowed. For a home office that becomes a guest room a few nights a month.

Config 03
Carries the wall to the ceiling, so the metre of height above the bed stops going to waste.

Config 04
The living room keeps its sofa and gains a guest bed. The bed comes down clear of the seat below.

Config 05
The desk is part of the bed front and folds away with it. For a room with no wall left for separate carpentry.

Config 06
The compact version for a box room or a helper’s room, with the run carried over the bed for storage.

A selection, not a catalogue — every wall is drawn to the room it goes in. Horizontal wall beds, folding sideways rather than end-on, are built too, for rooms that are wide but shallow or have a low ceiling. Ask for photographs of anything you do not see here.

Product types
Every wall bed is one of these. Pick the fold first — the size, the top cabinet and the carpentry around it all follow from it.

Folds down end-on, head against the wall. The common one: it needs the least wall run and takes the most storage around it.
Single · Super single · Queen

Folds down sideways, long edge along the wall. For a room that is wide but shallow, or a ceiling too low for a vertical bed.

The same cabinetry, opened and closed by a motor from a remote or a wall switch. For a bed that comes down every night.

What one costs
S$4,000 – S$8,000
A complete wall bed, built and installed. Where it lands inside that range depends on the size, the mechanism and how much carpentry runs around it — a single bed in a plain carcass sits near the bottom, a queen with a motor, a wardrobe and full-height storage near the top.
Cabinet faces are our standard production sizes, side panels included. A vertical bed folds down end-on: narrow on the wall, but it reaches 205 cm into the room. A horizontal one folds sideways: 201 cm of wall whatever the size, and barely a metre of floor for a single. Custom widths and heights are routine — these are starting points, not limits.

Five steps
Drawn with the room and built with the wall — the bed, the wardrobe beside it and the storage above it come off one set of drawings, from our own workshop.
How the room is used now, and what it has to become.
Wall run, ceiling height, beams, sockets, window swing.
The bed drawn together with the storage around it, priced as one job.
Built at our Woodlands workshop, not subcontracted out.
Delivery, fitting, and the mechanism adjusted on site.
No obligation
A consultation, a site measurement and a drawing all come before any commitment.
SpeedyDecor has done a very good job installing our wall bed with attached cabinets. Coordinator Joyce is very accommodating even with our very specific design requests, including some minor electrical and painting works.
